8:45 am - 9:45 am "MySQL Heatwave – The Basics"- Bobby Curtis
Are you a MySQL DBA that has analytics requirements? If so, come and learn how MySQL Heatwave can minimize your data movement, keep data secure, and increase analytic query performance. This session will dive into how Oracle enables MySQL on OCI and extends its query performance with Heatwave clusters. Learn the basics of Heatwave and take your MySQL environment to the next level!
Takeaways:
Presenter - Bobby Curtis, President, RheoData
Bobby Curtis is the president and senior consultant at RheoData, a global systems integrator based in Atlanta. As an Oracle ACE Director Alumni and published author, he has a wide range of knowledge from database technologies, data movement, and cloud architectures. Before running RheoData, Bobby worked for Oracle as the core product manager for Oracle GoldenGate and various consulting firms specializing in creating, maintaining, tuning, and integrating enterprise database solutions to help solve business problems.
10:10 am - 11:10 am "DevOps for DBA’s using Ansible and Liquibase" (Part 1) - Sebastian Samala and Tim Mishek
11:20 am - 12:20 pm "DevOps for DBA’s using Ansible and Liquibase" (Part 2) - Sebastian Samala and Tim Mishek
As part of the DevOps process, it is necessary to have an automated and a repeatable process defined in the CI/CD pipeline. In order to run database deployments specifically in the pipeline, Ansible in conjunction with Liquibase can be used to accomplish this goal. During the session, you will learn how to install and configure Ansible, learn how playbooks work with Yaml, use Ansible vault to encrypt a “Secrets” file, and incorporate Liquibase to automate database deployments.
