Oracle on Azure, the Why, the How and the What to Know

MICROSOFT AZURE by Kellyn Gorman Microsoft

The session will cover why customers are migrating Oracle workloads onto Azure Cloud, how to correctly assess workloads and identify red flags before they become an issue in your migration strategy.  We’ll cover compute and storage options for success and how to avoid the pitfalls of licensing and what modernization really means for many Oracle workloads in Azure.

Oracle database backups, HA, and DR within Azure

MICROSOFT AZURE by Tim Gorman Microsoft

This presentation will focus on the choices available for database backups, high availability, and disaster resiliency for Oracle database workloads running in Azure.  There are currently more than 5000 Azure customers running Oracle database workloads in Azure IaaS, and that number is growing by leaps and bounds.  We discuss how to protect databases using backups and redundancy, and how to maximize database service availability.  Many customers formerly used Oracle RAC on-prem, but due to Oracle’s prohibition of RAC in public clouds other than their own (for whatever reason), all have realized the fact that RAC isn’t needed, likely has never been needed, and most likely has even been an obstacle to high availability for Oracle database.

Registration per day is required! Be sure to register for each training day which includes a session you are interested in watching.
